This Saturday, September 2, as harvest begins all over the world and cool weather starts to set in, we thought we might open some wines that fit the zeitgeist.
We will be tasting from two California wineries: one of the old guard, and one of the new movement.
The family at Peirano Estate (Lodi) has been growing and producing wines continuously for over a century. They are California farmers at heart and their style suggests a bygone era. We will open their Chardonnay and their Merlot.
TR Elliott (Russian River) is the new wave in California. With a heavy nod from Burgundy, their wines are vineyard-specific, lean, and fresh. They express terroir in a way that suggests the hills of California aren’t all that different from southern Burgundy. We will taste one of their Chardonnays and one of their Pinot Noirs.
Tasting is free for all interested and will be held from 1-3pm (ish).
